People use the lampposts on the sidewalks here as a kind of community bulletin board - on any given day, they are plastered with homemade ads for guitar lessons, or lost pets, or apartment shares, as well as the more official green city notices announcing council meetings. Last night I noticed the same hand lettered notice, taped on top, on lampposts on every corner, so while waiting for the light to turn I went over to read it.

It was a long, rambling story of how someone had lost a bag of dolls on 4th of July, and it had a lot of sentimental value, but someone returned it, minus one. And the lost one was a Chucky doll, depicted in a grainy photo, looking like someone had given it a bad haircut. It goes on to say that this nutjob is willing to pay $150 for Chucky's return. And on the bottom, spaced down from the rest of the ad, was printed, "I miss the little guy. "
